Maintenance

All apartment homes will be thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and any necessary repairs will be completed to ensure a welcoming and comfortable space for your new home. 

Yes, we have a friendly maintenance team right here on-site, ready to help!

In the event something in your apartment requires attention from our maintenance team, please log into the Habitat Home App to complete a service request. The Maintenance Team is onsite and available for routine requests from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday. After 5 PM and on the weekends, the Service Team is available for EMERGENCY calls only.

Service Requests are completed in the order in which they are received (typically within 72 hours or less). All emergencies must be entered using the emergency line. 

When submitting your service request, you have the option to allow permission to enter, request a phone call be made prior to entering, or require someone to be present when the service request is being completed.

Residents or occupants who lock themselves out of their apartment should contact the after-hours emergency phone line and follow the prompts.  A valid state issued Photo-ID or Driver’s License will be required upon entry.  A $75 lockout fee will also be charged to your account. 

In the event that you wish to alter your apartment, you may do so, however know that residents are required to restore the apartment back to its original condition upon move-out. The outside surface of any draperies or additional window covering should be of a neutral color.  No nailed, glued, or pasted seasonal decorations or any other items may be affixed to your apartment door. 

Amenities

Enjoy a gated community with scenic, lush grounds, a prime location, and ample surface parking. 

Each home provides a dedicated assigned parking space. Additionally, there is limited guest parking spaces available at the community at no additional charge, plus ample street parking nearby.

Each home provides an individual washer and dryer for your convenience. 

The Village of Hyde Park is a Pet-Passionate and Pet-Responsible Apartment Community!

There is a non-refundable, one-time fee of $350 per pet, along with a monthly rent of $30 for each furry friend.

We welcome up to two pets per apartment with no weight limit! Please note that breed restrictions apply, and all pets are required to be enrolled in Pet Screening.

While we don’t have a pet park on-site, there are several nearby parks where your pet can enjoy some outdoor time!

All homes are provided with an appliance package of a full size stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, as well as a full-sized washer and dryer. 

The Village of Hyde Park has partnered with CORT Furniture to offer you furnished apartment options! Style just one room or your whole apartment in just 48 hours for easy move-ins.

Any applicant is welcome to apply for any available home in our community, including corporations. 

We do not accept packages at the leasing office. All packages will be delivered directly to your front door by the carrier. 

We kindly ask that you be considerate of your neighbors when enjoying your home. Please refrain from creating excessive noise that may disturb the quiet enjoyment of those around you. There’s no cost to take a tour – we’d be happy to show you around and answer any questions you have!

We gladly accept walk-ins, and you are also able to book a tour time that is best for your schedule directly on our website.

Our Management team is available in the office Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Stop in and say hello!

You can submit your application for residency by visiting our website TheVillageofHydePark.com and click the apply now on the Floor Plans page.

Application screening can take up to 48 hours, but typically is instant once your identity has been verified. 

In addition to your prorated Rent Charges, the following Mandatory Additional Fees (One-Time) are required:

  • Application Fee: $100 per applicant
  • Administration Fee: $300 per unit
  • Surety Bond: Starting at $350 (non-refundable, based on approval level)
  • Utility Account Setup Fee: $25 at move-in
  • Resident Account Setup Fee: $25 at move-in

We welcome anyone interested in joining the community to apply for an available home. 

The easiest way to pay your rent is online through your Resident Portal via Bilt. We also accept certified funds at our leasing office for rental payments. 

Simply log into the Habitat Home App, register an account through BILT, upload payment through “my wallet”, and submit rent payments electronically. 

Utilities and Other Fees Not Included in Base Rent include Monthly Garbage which varies per month and based on household size (billed by Conservice), a Monthly Service Fee of $6.50. Electricity/Gas and Water/Sewer varies based on usage.

Residents are required to hold an active renter’s insurance policy for the duration of their residency at The Village of Hyde Park. Liability coverage must be no less than $300,000 per occurrence.  

Utilities are not included in the rent.

Gas and Electric are set up through DTE Energy and paid directly to them. Trash, Water, and Sewer is billed through Conservice, based on household size, and you will be auto enrolled at move-in.

Each home is pre-wired for Xfinity service.

Yes, The Village of Hyde Park is conveniently located near Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) bus routes and is close to both the downtown People Mover and the QLine streetcar, providing easy access to downtown Detroit and other key areas.

The Village of Hyde Park is located in the Elmwood Park neighborhood, close to Eastern Market, one of Detroit's most popular destinations for fresh produce, local goods, and events. Residents also enjoy quick access to downtown Detroit attractions, including cultural sites, dining, and entertainment options.

The Village of Hyde Park is located within the Detroit Public Schools Community District, serving the Midtown and surrounding Detroit areas.

The nearest dog park, Capital Park Dog Park, is about 1 mile from The Village of Hyde Park, offering a convenient space for dogs to exercise and play.

Yes, there are several bike trails nearby, including access to the Detroit Riverwalk and Dequindre Cut Greenway, popular for both recreational and commuting cyclists.

Residents have easy access to both the Downtown, Jefferson East, and Eastern Market shopping options, including the nearby Meijer Rivertown Market. 

The nearest coffee shop is Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company, located about 0.5 miles from The Village of Hyde Park, offering a cozy spot for residents to enjoy coffee and meet with friends.

The community itself is located off Hyde Park Dr, between Antietam Ave and E Lafayette St. Nearby freeways include I-375, I-75, I-94. The Leasing office is located at 1 Lafayette Plaisance St. (off Rivard St, between Antietam Ave and E Lafayette St).
